🇲🇹 Malta has a much higher ranking than Slovakia on the DESI, ranking 5th overall. It also ranks 7th in the use of digital technologies by enterprises. ![]()

Moreover, the Maltese government has recognised the importance of AI, putting forward a national strategy on AI in 2019 (malta.ai/), which explores how AI can improve the public and private sector.![]()

Our Maltese partner, AcrossLimits (Malta), will therefore make use of the Maltese expertise in this regard, to help ensure that every company, small or large, high-tech or not, can take advantage of digital opportunities.![]()

🇸🇰 Slovakia’s ranking on the DESI is very low, ranking only 22nd out of 28 EU countries. It also ranks 21st on integration of digital technology. ![]()

Although a national digitisation strategy has been put forward, supporting the integration of technologies in companies, including AI, most SMEs in Slovakia fall short of EU averages in digitisation. ![]()

Our Slovak partner, the Slovak Center for Digital Innovation, will be very useful to combat this problem, since it seeks to advance the digital transformation in Slovakia and to show how modern and available digital tools can be used to successfully transform people’s businesses.![]()

The motivation of this project is to strengthen the competitiveness of European SMEs, by facilitating the increased uptake and integration of AI systems and tools in business practices, as well as to upskill the European workforce with appropriate digital skills and competences in the field of AI to promote the digital transformation of European SMEs.

🎯 Since PAITool is an educational project, in addition to professionals working in SMEs, we are also targeting training organisations and/or educators working in on-the-job training environments. ![]()

❗ The training providers will benefit from the transformation of their courses to cover AI. Adapting to AI-enhanced working conditions will require training organisations to adapt and integrate AI in all topics for the workplace.
🎯 This project is mainly targeted at professionals working in small and medium-sized enterprises who need to improve their knowledge and skills especially in reference to digital tools and AI training. ![]()

❗ Since SMEs make up 99% of Europe’s businesses and two thirds of the total employment, it is important for them to bridge the digital skills gap to be able to both compete with large companies and to meet the new digital skill needs.
We will collect feedback from participants to gauge the pilot course’s effectiveness in meeting the objectives of the project, in line with project priorities, as well as its understandability, clarity and room for improvement. This will reveal whether or not the course has potential to be developed further beyond the project lifetime.
The pilot course will be delivered to at least 60 participants from the SMEs identified in our outreach activities.![]()

To enhance its impact, train-the-trainers workshops will be organised for SME management staff to be able to use the training content to support other employees in enacting digital transformation in the workplace.
The second objective of the project is to develop a new AI training course in an engaging interactive format in English and Slovak, designed for accessibility, ease of understanding, and relevance in cultivating digital competence relevant to AI for SME staff. ![]()

This will enhance the flexibility of VET opportunities, increase the employability of workers, and support the digital transformation of SMEs.![]()

Slovak Center for Digital Innovation (SCDI) seeks to advance the digital transformation in Slovakia and to show how modern and available digital tools can be used to successfully transform people’s businesses SCDI's main goal is networking between members and providers of digital business solutions. SCDI already has AI training material and the expertise to deliver it, and seeks to enhance its portfolio through this project. PAITool is an EU funded project under the Erasmus+ programme. It seeks to gain a better understanding of the needs of SMEs in adopting AI in their business practices, and then to develop a new training course to address these challenges.
